About us

Who We Are: Empowering Women & Youth, Together

Empower To Thrive Youth & Women Network is a Toronto-based, community-rooted nonprofit supporting women and youth, especially from African-diaspora communities, impacted by violence, stress, or instability.

We offer domestic violence support in Toronto, culturally grounded healing circles, mental health support Toronto, and youth violence prevention programs that center voice, safety, and choice. Our team also provides emergency food assistance, mentorship, and education and growth programs that open doors to new opportunities.

Together, we create spaces of belonging where survivors are believed, supported, and never alone. We walk alongside each person as they rebuild confidence and create safer futures.

Reaching out

What happens when you contact us

Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here is what happens on our side of it — so there are no surprises.

Talk to someone

You will not be asked to prove what happened, or to tell your story more times than you want to. We start from the assumption that you know your own situation best.

You decide what you want help with and when. Nothing moves forward — a referral, a safety plan, a call to another agency — without you choosing it.

Confidentiality is one of our core commitments. We will always explain clearly if there is ever a limit to it, before you share anything.

Our work is culturally grounded, with particular roots in African-diaspora communities. You should not have to translate yourself to be understood here.
